Jinko Solar, the global leading PV and ESS supplier, announces the supply of its panels for new agrivoltaic plants totaling approximately 50 MWp to be built by Esapro in Italy.
For the construction of these 8 agrivoltaic plants, which will have a total capacity of around 50 MW, Orchidea SPA (a company of the Group which also includes KB Development, a leader in Technical Advisory) has fully entrusted ESAPRO, one of the EPC operators with many years of consolidated experience in the solar photovoltaic sector which has consistently demonstrated great professionalism and reliability, with a mutual partnership lasting over 15 years.
This project represents an important step forward in integrating renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, contributing to Italy’s sustainability and decarbonization goals.
The plants will be distributed across Veneto, Campania, and Calabria, and will utilize various models of Jinko Solar’s latest generation Tiger Neo modules—specifically 590W, 595W, and 720W—renowned for their high efficiency and reliability. The initiative is part of the new series of advanced 2.1 agrivoltaic plants, designed to maximize energy production without compromising the underlying agricultural activity.
ESAPRO is a company controlled by Algebris Green Transition Fund, a Private Equity Fund managed by Algebris Investments. With over 600 MW of designed and managed plants, confirms its position as one of the main players in Italy's photovoltaic sector, thanks to its expertise in designing and managing large-scale systems.
“We are thrilled to contribute to this innovative project that combines advanced technology with environmental sustainability,” said Andrea Giarolo, Country Manager of Jinko Solar. “Our mission is to support the energy transition by providing efficient and reliable solutions and this project is a perfect example.”
“Our relationship with Jinko Solar continues to strengthen,” commented Giorgio Menaldo, CEO of Esapro. “The design and construction of these innovative plants demonstrate that we are ready to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities that the energy transition will bring in the upcoming years.”
